Tuscany in Italy falls on the banks of the Arno River. It is situated between Bologna and Siena. After being settled by the Etruscans in the colony Fiesole, the Romans formed the typical Roman camp. After the fall of the Empire, the Lombard’s who were checked in the High Middle Ages, through the Marquis of Tuscany. He was free city from 1145 until 1434, which came under the power of the Medici. S. XV in the artistic production had its climax in the Florence of the Quattro cento. In 1512 it was conquered by the Spaniards. For centuries fought for their independence, was born in 1861 until the Italian state.

Tourism in Toscana is boosted because of its main attractions which include the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, the Ponte Vecchio, the church Santa Croce and the Uffizi Museum.  The Piazza del Duomo is the most central square of the city. It brings together the three highest religious monuments, all of polychrome marble with geometric designs. Try walking on the Ponte Vecchio which is the oldest bridge in the city, with its latest reform in 1345. It has three eyes on it and there are two rows of shops. Initially these were occupied by butchers, fishmongers and tanners. In 1593 Ferdinand I, because of the bad smell in the area, decreed that they could only settle local jewelers. It is an ideal place to stroll watching their windows.

Tuscany is home to the Piazza Michelangelo which is a plaza from which covers one of the most famous scenic Italy, with the city, the valley and the surrounding hills. You can find nice holiday apartments in Lucca and it is the perfect place to end the day. At the center of the square there is another copy of Michelangelo’s David.
