What is the history of hemp?

Hemp is one of the most useful and beneficial plants that is found in nature. It is true that marijuana belongs to this same plant species but basically hemp seeds are not related to drugs and are extremely nutritious for health. It is agreed by archeologists that hemp was one of the first known plant species that were purposely cultivated in the lands in Central Asia. It is most likely that hemp was cultivated in parts of Nepal, Kazakistan, the Kashmir region of India, Pakistan, and the Tibetan region of China.

Hemp was also cultivated between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in the Mesopotamian Valley. Gradually the cultivation of hemp passed through the lowlands of Russia to Scandinavia, Poland and Germany. In the Carpathian Mountains and near the Danube River delta hemp became a popular plant species to be cultivated purposefully. The cultivation of hemp also went to the Mediterranean countries. Hemp has been grown from the ancient times and it has multipurpose use. From the ancient times, it is used as food, fiber and fuel and also has medicinal values.

As cannabis can be produced from hemp, cultivation of hemp has been banned in the US. Harry Anslinger took the war of Hemp to the United Nations. He took initiatives to promote a series of rules to prohibit the cultivation of hemp throughout the world. At present, most nations cannot get any help from the US unless they stop cultivating hemp totally.

More on THC in Hemp Clothing

THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) is a psychoactive ingredient of Cannabis, and CBD. This is medically termed as an antipsychoactive ingredient. There are usually two types of Cannabis, one type of it is rich in the psychoactive cannabinoid, THC, and low in the antipsychoactive cannabinoid, CBD. The one with low in the antipsychoactive cannabinoid is commonly known as marijuana. Type two is high in CBD and low in THC. Variants of this type are called industrial hemp. Marijuana is the most commonly used drug in the world that has a remarkable amount of THC. The amount of THC in Marijuana is generally 7.4 percent which may range as high as 24 percent too. In Hashis, a popular marijuana plant, THC level is 5 to 10 times higher.

The THC levels in industrial hemp are usually very low. It is hence safer and no one will get intoxicated to such an extent that can hamper the smoker. Hemp contains a comparatively high percentage of another cannabinoid, CBD. THC can, however, be extracted from hemp through some sort of refining process. This process is considered to be expensive and hazardous. This is time consuming as well. It is thus advised that obtain THC from marijuana and not from hemp.

What is THC in Marijuana and is it in HEMP clothing? Are You At Risk?

Are you exposing your self to Marijuana when you wear hemp clothing? This is constantly being asked in many different forums, but the reality is that you actually ARE!

Yes when you wear hemp clothing you are actually exposing yourself to marijuana, however is it harmful. The answer is NO! You can’t really harm yourself when you wear hemp clothing, the danger in marijuana is THC the addictive quality in marijuana that causes a range of side effects including hallucinations and lethargy.

Marijuana has many reference terms these days. And regardless of the word used, one ingredient stays present: THC. THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is main active ingredient in marijuana. When the substance is consumed, the THC is bound to brain cell receptors and after a period of time, the user experiences the sensation of being high.

The effects of TCH have given it quite a reputation and those thoughts have jumped over to the opinion of other cannabis plant products. In addition to the THC, Hemp is also a product that comes from the marijuana plant. Hemp is an alternative substance used to create things like rope, fabric, and fuel. Although the two come from the same plant, THC levels are not strengthened in any Hemp product. Research has shown that while Hemp clothing is made from a substance that include THC, the drug level is less than 20%, which essentially makes the clothing unable to produce symptoms of a high. In addition, Hemp contains a percentage of cannabinoid (CBD), which blocks the marijuana high. The work it would take to actually achieve the proper intensity of THC to get high would take too much work and money.
