On February 6, 2004 the American federal agency on drugs (the Drug Enforcement Administration, DEA) lost his battle to ban processed foods with hemp oil, which contains only minimal traces of THC. An appeals court in San Francisco said that the DEA had no authority over these foods, as they are not considered drugs. The DEA claimed that all goods containing THC should be considered illegal drugs.
